Day: 1 | Arrival, transfer arusha coffee lodge
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where a member of our team will meet and assist you. From there, you’ll be chauffeured in style over to the Arusha Coffee Lodge: a beautiful complex that contains 12 VIP Plantation Suites. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace, exploring the surrounding area or enjoying your all inclusive stay at the hotel. The aptly named Arusha Coffee Lodge lies hidden amongst the sprawling grounds of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantation, set below the rugged peaks of Mt Meru. Guests can unwind in one of the lodge’s exclusive Plantation Suites, which each boast a romantic four-poster bed draped in Egyptian cotton linen, a split-level sitting area, ensuite bathroom, an open fireplace, a personal bar and a private veranda that looks out onto rows and rows of berry-laden coffee bushes.
Guests can enjoy scrumptious meals in the Coffee Lodge lounge or sip on their favourite drinks in the bar area. A boutique store, swimming pool and garden terrace add to guest delight. Other adventures include a tour of the Shanga social enterprise as well as visits to the Museum of Natural History, the Maasai market on Faya Road and the Tanzanite Experience. A game drive in Arusha National Park, accompanied by a delicious picnic lunch, makes for a wonderful outing.
Days: 2-3 | Tarangire National Park
This morning there’s time for a good breakfast and a full briefing on your tour. After an al fresco lunch in the gardens of the lodge, you’ll be chauffeured back to Arusha for your first connecting flight to the Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park. Once there, the Tarangire Treetops team will take you on an afternoon game drive around the reserve, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot the many resident wild elephants and other exotic game until sunset. Tarangire is famous for its baobab trees, elephant migration patterns and diverse birdlife, and boasts a huge concentration of exotic game during peak months. If you’re really lucky, you may even get the chance to spot the elusive oryx - a beautiful antelope species native to this part of East Africa. On your return to the lodge, you’ll have an unforgettable experience staying two nights in your own personal treehouse.
Tarangire National Park is packed with fantastic activities, including a visit to a nearby Maasai village, a game walk, and a magnificent sundowner in the bush. But that’s not all. That evening, our expert guides will take you on a nighttime game drive, giving you a unique chance to see another side of the reserve. This really is a mesmerising experience, particularly spotting unusual creatures around the swamplands of Tarangire that only make an appearance when the sun goes down.
Day: 4-5 | Ngorongoro Crater
Home to the world’s largest inactive volcano, Ngorongoro National Park is a must-see destination for your tour around Northern Tanzania. As soon as you venture by jeep out onto the crater floor you’ll realise that this is a place you won’t forget in a hurry. The natural beauty and biodiversity that you’ll find here is incredible. By late afternoon, it’s time for you to ascend to the crater rim and drive to Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp. The charming Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is set in the dappled shade of an ancient acacia forest, right on the edge of the majestic Ngorongoro Crater. The camp is situated close to the quiet Lemala crater access route, which means that guests have quick and easy access into the Crater. Spacious tents boast comfortable beds, gas heaters for the cool evenings, 24-hour solar lighting and lovely ensuite bathrooms with a dressing area and al fresco showers.
Guests can gather around a blazing campfire to enjoy their favourite sundowner and swap stories of the day’s adventures before making their way to a lavish chandelier-lit dinner hosted by the camp manager. Grand couches and filled-to-the-brim book cabinets tempts guests to steal a few quiet hours between game viewing adventures. Lemala Ngorongoro offers game drives into the Ngorongoro Crater, as well as bush walks within the nearby Ol Moti and Empakaai Craters accompanied by Maasai guides.
Days: 6-7 | Serengeti National Park
Morning activities and lunch, it’s time to head over to Manyara Airstrip for your next flight to the Serengeti, check in at the Serengeti Bushtops. This area is packed with incredible wildlife, offering plenty of opportunities to spot wandering herds en route to your lodgings at the beautiful Serengeti Bushtops Camp. Serengeti Bushtops Camp is situated in one of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, the renowned Serengeti National Park. Sumptuous tents include ensuite showers, private dining tables, luxurious hot tubs, large terraces and boast extraordinary panoramic views of the camp’s magnificent surrounds. Outstanding butler service and personal massages add to guest delight.
After exciting days spent exploring the wonders of the Serengeti National Park, guests can savour superb à la carte dinners, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines in the inviting restaurant. Those in need of relaxing spots to unwind can head to the quiet confines of the well-stocked library or laze around the comfortable sitting room. Adventures include exhilarating game drives and bush walks through this wildlife-rich reserve.
Day: 8 | Transfer Arusha, Departure
After an unforgettable week spent discovering Tanzania in the lap of luxury, you may decide to take things easy for your final morning in the Serengeti. Lunch will be served before heading out for a final game drive on the way back to the Manyara Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. One of our guides will be there to greet you and arrange a chauffeur back to Kilimanjaro International Airport in plenty of time for your departing flight.
